Elisa comes from Elisabeth
Elisa is based in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe. "Vor der Höhe" stands for the Hohe Taunus mountains near the town, with the large Feldberg mountain as the highest peak in the region. "Elisa" itself refers to a key historical figure in the town's history: Landgravine Elisabeth of Hesse-Homburg (1770-1840).
Our namesake was able to provide a wide range of impetus for urban development during her time at the beginning of the 19th century. She also contributed to a significant improvement in healthcare for the poorer population.
